"Throw in a voice like a shimmering rope of pearls, an exquisite legato and an instinctive understanding of French style, and you begin to approach the blistering talent of this Californian soprano"
Metro, London

Lyric sopranos are often opera’s “good girls”; with an ultra-feminine sound they sculpt flowing vocal lines and float through arching phrases.  That is precisely what Nicole Cabell’s singing is about.  Her distinctive timbre - equal parts silver and gold - ideally suits any number of lyric heroines.  Nicole’s new recording demonstrates that florid passages pose no terrors for her, but as with all lyric sopranos, it is genuinely soulful music that brings out the essential qualities of her artistry.

The native Californian burst onto the international scene literally overnight in June 2005, three months after completing her tenure in the young-artist programme of Lyric Opera of Chicago.  Cabell, representing the United States, was awarded the Main Prize in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.
