2011-2012 Concert Series
Tryon Concert Association is pleased to announce our 57th continuous season.
You are going to see and hear some of the finest musical talent in the world including Nicholas Phan, Takács String Quartet, Stefan Jackiw and Joyce Yang, and the I Musici de Montreal.
Series subscriptions are $75 for the four concerts. Student (under 18 years) series subscriptions are $25 for the four concerts.

About our subscription policy…
Every so often we are asked why we sell tickets solely by season subscription. Many in our foothills communities travel a great deal, and are frustrated when concerts are scheduled at times they cannot attend. This causes them to question the value of subscribing to the whole series. However, were we to sell tickets individually, we would need to dramatically increase the price of tickets for each concert. This may seem counterintuitive initially, but being able to count on a known number of subscribers allows us to plan for the season while offering the lowest possible prices without needing to inflate ticket prices to cover a potential shortfall for any single concert. In addition, promoting and selling tickets for each individual concert is frankly beyond the resources of our small volunteer organization. The board feels that the season subscription method is by far the best system and we are committed to keeping it in place.
With these facts in mind, a good rule of thumb is this: If you can attend only one concert, you are hearing a world-class performance at or below what it would cost you to hear that same artist in one of the world's leading metropolitan areas. If you can attend two, you're already enjoying half-price, right in the convenience and intimacy of our sweet local performing arts center. Three performances, and you're in "unbelievable bargain" territory. Four? Truly amazing!
To date, you have supported our system enthusiastically, not only by subscribing but also by contributing generously so that we may bring you the very best performers at affordable prices. Subscribers' out-of-town guests continue to be accommodated for $25 per ticket, if tickets are available. (In the interest of fairness, we raised the price of last- minute, as-available tickets to $35 each. These tickets are available only 5 minutes before each concert, only if there are still empty seats. No reservations!) We want to serve you, our loyal subscribers, as well and as economically as we can!
Please remember, too, that if you are unable to attend one of the concerts, you may turn in your tickets in advance and receive a receipt acknowledging the cash value for tax purposes.
